Last Friday was my third time joining San Jose’s Bike Party. These parties are huge and can get quite disruptive. I was first introduced to it by my cousin and since then I’ve been hooked. Basically, everyone with a bike comes out and takes up one lane (the right lane) and rides around the neighborhood. It’s really fun and you get to meet new people along the way. The routes are predetermined by awesome volunteers and meet every third friday of the month. And it was a pirate theme!
This friday, though, the map route was a secret because a lot of people last month got too drunk and high. Lots of people weren’t following the rules, were acting very rude to others and some even got hit by a car! Very sad, so I understand the whole secrecy of it. This time around, there were still a ton of people (around 2k to 3k come out each time!) but a lot more were following the rules.
I’ve heard of San Francisco and Santa Cruz doing this before I got my bike last year and I was so happy we have one in the South Bay.
This Saturday, will be Tour de Fat in San Francisco! 7 miles around Golden Gate Park! I can’t wait!
PICTURE TIME!
This was my fave bike that night. The way he decorated it was very inventive:

I was taking a picture while riding, and these guys were trying to figure out where the flash was coming from =P :

And here’s the madness of it all, doesn’t look much but trust me if it were an aerial view it would be INSANE!
